I saw the first installment in the Star Wars franchise 40 years ago, and I’ve seen every subsequent movie in the series within days of its release. “The Last Jedi” is a worthwhile continuation of the saga, with sufficient plot complexity blended with action scenes and character development to keep me engaged. Mark Hamill brings the full gravitas of his age to bear on his role as the wise elder Luke Skywalker, with Carrie Fisher likewise playing a mature general with credibility.
I can’t say much more without spoilers, so I’ll just say that it’s a great blend of sci-fi, drama, and comedy that will satisfy any Star Wars fan.
